This time I decided to publish a transcription for flute main theme of the movie "The Godfather" created by Nino Rota . In measure 6 and 18 the note (quaver under the pattern) was changed by the C note, in bars 7 and 8 of the notes G # and the (under the guideline) were octaves because the tessitura of the instrument.
SOME BACKGROUND TO THE FILM
The Godfather is a film based on the book of the same name, written by Mario Puzo . It was the first of a trilogy completed by The Godfather II ( 1974) and The Godfather III ( 1990). The Godfather won three Oscars in 1973 , for best film, best screenplay of Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola and best actor for Marlon Brando.
This film presents an accurate and thorough portrait of an era and an environment, but above all, a surreptitious critique of American society, the domestic relations, political practice and moral schemes subtly treated as background to the script through the world matters of the Mafia, immigration, relationship, rule systems family, criminal violence and political partnership, etc.
Part of the visual appeal and style of the work involves the interpretation of the figure of Michael Corleone . In the opening sequence of the film Michael is presented with angelic face, even Coppola employs special filters that reduce wrinkles and combined with lighting and makeup Michael teach us a lot younger, recently abandoned teens. The brutal change that takes place in his heart when he takes the inheritance of blood from the Corleone is also reflected in his face, that the last scene is already in a mature, complex, looking directly into eyes and with all his heart lies.
However, he criticized the director to offer a very attractive image to the world of the mafia.
